Charlton keeper Rob Elliot is having a medical with Newcastle United.

Pardew is looking to provide competition for Tim Krul and Steve Harper whilst Frazer Forster is on a season long loan at Celtic.

Forster will be sold next summer or even in January. Eliot is a good keeper but won't come close to Krul!!

I havent seen him play and it was his low profile that put me off.

Pardew knows him from when he was Charlton manager. I think he's being brought in as a replacement for Harper, Krul will be No. 1 for as long as he's at the club
