AFTER MATCH INTERVIEW

By Toon Stig

After Newcastle beat Blackburn 2-1 in the FA Cup 3rd Round with a late-gasp winner from Jonas Gutierrez at St. James' Park, I caught up with 3 Fans.

I asked,
"How do you feel after
that result? What was the
atmosphere like after
Jonas late goal and how
did it feel to be there?
Who would you like to be
drawn in the fourth round
and Can Newcastle win the
FA CUP?"

Sam Gibson said,
"To come out with a 2-1
win I am very happy.
Playing a Blackburn side
on a high after beating
Man United and a
promising performance
against Stoke it was
always going to be tough
and they really did bring
the game to us. And
always nice to see that we
can score without Demba.

"The atmosphere was up
and down, people booing
Obertan got me but by
the end of the match it
was rocking, really
pleasing to see everyone
getting so passionate.
Jonas's late goal was pure
class, he missed a free
header earlier on and it
deffonatly made up for it
with a great little dink
over Bunn. It was a great
buzz we got the goal and
it was amazing to witness.

I would love a nice away
trip to Everton or Boro if
that's not possible
deffonatly an away trip
because away days are
something different. My
heart says we can win the
FA cup but realisticaaly I
don't think we can."

Andy Munn had this to say,
"got to be honest. i go to
every game, and felt a
little let down by the
support today. not seen
that (30,000) in a long
time. saying that, the first
half we were a poor team,
looked disjointed.
second half, yohan cabaye
took a grip of the game,
and even after being a
goal down, i felt that we
were too good to be
beaten by blackburn, they
were poor. colo was his
usual self, santon looks
class and ben arfa,,, well
he will can be a pure star.
all in all, a bit of a
frustrating game, but we
deserved it in the end.
i would love sunderland
next ha ha.. ; )"

Andy Munn said,
"I feel that result was well
deserved as we created
so many chances and were
so unlucky after hitting the
bar etc, i thought that
hatem ben arfa was
amazing but sometimes
didnt look like he wanted
to release the ball so
much and santon showed
again his exciting potential.

"The atmosphere was great
in the gallowgate end alot
of the way through but
after spidermans goal was
even better, because the
goal was so important if
we want to progress far in
this cup.

"In the next round i would
like to have a slightly
poorer side than ours so
that we can win and
progress but also if
they're not too badder
team it will be a nicely
contested game which
would create great
atmosphere and i hope
the lads will produce well
in hte next round, in which
i'd include a few more
youngsters and play
Hatem on the right in
place of obertan because i
think he provides the
strikers much better there
and cuts in to create his
own shots."
