Liverpool have beaten Newcastle 3-1 at Anfield after a double from Craig Bellamy made sure his former team lost.
Steven Gerrard was also on the score sheet after coming on as a substitute.
Daniel Agger scored an own goal to give The Magpies the lead early on after Yohan Cabaye's shot deflected off him. Andy Carroll also had a chance to score against his boyhood club.
Newcastle remain in 7th with Liverpool in 6th, now 4 points clear.
