Magpies Stunned By Last Minute Gasp

Blackburn have beaten Newcastle 4-3 after ET, with a last minute goal from Givet, putting the home side into the Quarter Finals of the Carling Cup, in an absolutely thrilling encounter.

There were more away supporters than home proving the true passion of the Toon Army.

Rochina scored early on for Blackburn, with the home side in charge of the first half. Yakubu was handed a penalty in the 2nd half with him scoring to make it 2-0.

Danny Guthrie scored Newcastle's 1st goal with only minutes left. 5 minutes were added on with Yohan Cabaye scoring a stunning free kick to make it 2-2, making a remarkable comeback iniment.

Pedersen then went on to score Blackburn's 3rd in the first half of ET. Newcastle were then handed a penalty which Peter Lovenkrands converted into the equaliser and the 2nd comeback of the match.

Givet then scored the winner for Blackburn with 2 minutes left. The Magpies played with true heart and passion which every Toon fan should be proud of.
