Santon Could Return Within Days

Alan Pardew has claimed that new signing Davide Santon could return within in the next few days.

The 20 year old Italian signed from Inter Milan, was set for his debut to face Aston Villa but 2 days before the match, in training, he injured his knee and was thought to be out for up to a month.

Santon has been sent to London to have fluids removed from his injured knee.

Pardew said,
"He has
gone to London today
and will have his knee
drained of a little bit of
fluid that's on it, and then
we are hoping that he will
train.

"If that doesn't work,
probably at some stage,
we will have to look at
some keyhole surgery in
there to make sure that
this fluid doesn't appear
again."

thats good he not be out for long and get to see how good he is

The Curse of the Injured Newbie! Hope it really isn't serious!

Nothing worse than having your knee drained, well there is but you know what I mean, if he had it drained yesterday (Monday) I can't see him playing on Saturday, fingers crossed though because I am very excited about this player. I just hope we have not done what we have done in previous seasons rushed through a medical just to sign the player quicker and pacify fans
